Welcome

We, at Berean Council, have been working very hard to bring you Conference 26. We have put together a large variety of workshops that would interest not only Cadet Counselors, but their spouses as well. Once again this conference will be held at Mountainview C.R.C. in Grimsby, Ontario. Our Key note speaker this year is Pastor Ron Noorman, Corps Chaplain from Grand Rapids MI. We also have a very inspirational music team leading us in song to begin the day. Come out and explore the many facets of cadetting as well as learn new skills! Make sure you register before November 7th to be eligible for a discount.

Keynote Speaker

Pastor Ron Noorman is no stranger to cadeting. He became chaplain of the Calvinist Cadet Corps in April 1985, but before that he had served as council chaplain for Grand Valley Council, and had shown a strong interest in the Cadet ministry while serving various churches in the west Michigan area. Upon becoming Corps chaplain, he was quoted as saying, “I’m convinced of the strength of cadeting for positive growth in our boys. Therefore, I’m eager to help and ready to serve however the Lord can use me.”

Pastor Ron is as good as his word. He has helped and served the Cadet Corps in this unpaid position for a great many successive three-year terms, leaving the post only for one term in 2003-2006 when he was needed more at home. The Cadet ministry was delighted at his willingness to return, and though he is now retired from a ministerial position with a congregation, his work for Cadets goes on strong. His position involves writing occasional Bible lessons for the Quest, writing all Bible studies for international camporees, and being in charge of the spiritual program for camporees. He is a member of the executive committee and the camporee steering committee. He and his wife Sandy are always available to help and are known for their hospitality. And if needed, he provides spiritual counsel to our executive director.

The Berean Council and the workshop leaders are putting a lot of work into making this conference a wonderful success. We need your help promoting the conference and making sure every Counselor has the opportunity to attend this year’s conference. We have downloadable promotional media for you to print-out so that you can hang posters in your church as well as handout flyers and registration forms to your fellow counselors. Head Counselors we need your help especially, encourage your men along with yourself to attend!
